This time of the year is perfect to be getting out and enjoying the great outdoors. This weekend my husband and I visited War Eagle, Arkansas. We walked a couple of short trails and visited the War Eagle Cavern. The tour guide was wonderful, he had lots of facts and stories about the area and the cave. He told of Native Americans and pointed out their cave art work and stories of the Civil War soldiers who camped there. No cavern in the hills is complete without a moonshiner story or two, he showed us the part of the cavern moonshiners used to make their homemade alcohol and where it was hidden. After our cave tour, we headed over to Rogers and stopped at a fabulous antique mall. Here are some photos from there...Loving these booths!
We ended the day with some delicious fried chicken and caramel apples...the only way to do it in the South! The leaves will start changing in the next couple of weeks here in North West Arkansas, I'm excited to share some of those photos with y'all!
